Privacy Policy

Short version: Pipwalk has no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and we never sell or share your data. You can use the whole app without an account, and then nothing leaves your iPhone. If you choose to sign in, your walks and game progress are saved to our server so you can get them back on another iPhone, and you can delete your account at any time.

Using Pipwalk without an account

Everything stays on your iPhone: your steps, walks, streak, coins, Pip's outfits and your settings. Pipwalk makes no network requests for you at all. The data leaves your device only in your own device backups (such as iCloud Backup, which Apple handles). Deleting the app deletes it.

Motion & Fitness

Pipwalk uses your iPhone's motion sensor (Core Motion) to count steps during a walk. Raw step readings are only used on your iPhone to work out your walk's totals.

Apple Health

On iOS 26 and later, if you allow it, Pipwalk runs each walk as a workout so it keeps counting while you use other apps, and saves the finished walk to Apple Health as a walking workout. Pipwalk doesn't read anything from Apple Health, and Health data is never sent to our server or anyone else.

If you sign in (optional)

You can sign in with Sign in with Apple to back up your progress. We don't ask Apple for your name or email address. When you sign in, we store:

• Account identifiers: a random Pipwalk account ID and the anonymous user identifier Apple gives us. We also keep a token from Apple, encrypted, only so we can disconnect Sign in with Apple when you delete your account.
• Your walks: for each finished walk, its start and end time, steps, distance, active and brisk minutes, coins earned, and the goal or level it was for.
• Game progress: chests opened, items bought or worn in the in-game shop, and when you finished setup.
• Settings: Pip's name, daily goal, reminder time, distance unit, height (if you set it, to estimate your stride), and sound and haptics choices.
• The calendar day and time zone of each change, so streaks count the right days.

We use this data only to save your progress and restore it on your devices. It's linked to your Pipwalk account and isn't used for tracking or advertising. We don't share it with anyone, except our hosting provider, Railway, which stores it for us. Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and your sign-in tokens are kept in your iPhone's Keychain.

Deleting your account

In Pipwalk, go to Profile → Settings → Account → Delete account. This immediately deletes your account and all the data listed above from our database, and disconnects Sign in with Apple. The progress on your iPhone stays there unless you delete the app. Signing out keeps your account but stops saving new walks.

Notifications and the Dynamic Island

Walk reminders are scheduled on your iPhone; we don't send push notifications. The walk shown in the Dynamic Island and on the Lock Screen comes from the app on your iPhone.

Children

Pipwalk is suitable for all ages and has no ads. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. An account is optional, and it stores no name, email or contact details.

In-app purchases

Pipwalk has no in-app purchases. Coins are earned by walking and have no real-world value.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above. If a change affects data we already hold, we'll say so in the app first.
